Major James Edward Morton
Morton was part of the United States Air Force. He was a 1954 Treadwell High School graduate as well as a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. Morton was killed while flying a ground support mission out of DeNang on August 3rd, 1969.
Lt. Billy MossMoss attended Treadwell Junior High, and graduated from Tech High School in 1940. He then attended Memphis State College, but left his senior year to enlist in the Air Force. He was a flight bombardier who flew twenty missions over Germany and was shot down. He was a prisoner-of-war in World War II during 1944-1945.
James E. Bentley Jr.
Bentley was a long time student at Treadwell Schools and active in Boy Scouts at Troop 35 Presbyterian Church. He transferred to Overton High School his junior year. His family moved and James finished school at another high school in Memphis. Bentley was part of the United States Army. He was Killed in Action in Vietnam on February 25th, 1968, during the infamous Tet Offensive.
Robert "Bob" FlemingFleming grew up in the Highland Heights community and attended Treadwell High School. He was also in Boy Scout Troop 35. Fleming was part of the Tennessee National Guard Unit activated for the Korean War. While serving, he was listed as missing in action and thought to be dead. In 1953 he was released in a prisoner exchange and featured in a Life Magazine article.
Gerald D. Baker
Baker was a Treadwell High School graduate of 1960. He was in the United States Army, Specialist Four. Baker was killed in action in Military Region Three, South Vietnam on August 4th, 1967.

Captain Charles Springer
Springer was a graduate of Treadwell High School in 1955. He was part of the United States Army. He was killed in action in Vietnam on November 12th, 1967.
Charles Daniel BowenBowen attended Treadwell High School 1958 and graduated with honors from Southwestern 1962. He was among one of the first groups of Peace Corps Volunteers to serve in Africa (Nyasaland 1963-1965). Brown had been secretly involved with Civil Rights sit-ins in Memphis 1961-1962. Bowen was tragically killed in a car accident while he was a graduate student in African Studies at UCLA.
Captain Bryan Wayne Rushton
Rushton was a 1959 graduate of Treadwell High School as well as a graduate of University of South, where he played varsity football. He was a member at Highland Heights United Methodist Church. Rushton was part of the United States Army. He was killed in action in Pleiku Province, South Vietnam on July 12th, 1967.
Lt. William Lee HartleyHartley grew up in Highland Heights. He was part of the Boy Scout Troop 35 and 22. Hartley was a communicant at St. Michael Church located in Highland Heights. He was a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and was one of earliest casualties from Memphis in the Vietnam War. He was killed in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam August 23rd, 1966.
