Dr. John Malone is notable as the last principal of Treadwell High School. He was a longtime educator and school administrator, working for Memphis City Schools and teaching in local community colleges. He came to Treadwell in 1991 and served as principal through the closing of the High School in 2009. During his time at Treadwell, he oversaw a lot of changes including the rapid advance in the school technology resources (computer labs, etc). He is now retired, and an active member of Greater White Stone church in the South Memphis community.
"My favorite interview was with John Malone. Dr. Malone was a mentor of mine for a while and being able to interview him and learn more about his story was amazing. Dr. Malone was truly inspiring and he helped me to see hos important Treadwell was to the community."
